you say you gave it all to her,
devotion, love, and all you could muster
you showed us that you love her more
more than any of us could ever
but how long must this chaos go on?

you showered her with everything
but mostly not enough affection
you carried her off on your valiant wing
but you crave all her attention
infatuation is not what love could grow on

you took her away from our cruel world
and forbid her to laugh or speak
you say her mind we have whirled
but i say your love is weak
you self righteous king, step down from her throne

we have once together fought for her
for her freedom from love oppressing
you said you'll stop the falling tear
but now you are the one who's causing
we thought you could make her well. Were we wrong?

friend, as a friend on bended knee
why do you treat her so wrong?
You revel in her selfishly
that she lost her flight and her song.
Do you know that every night she cries alone?

but now it seems she's your pet
we thought you could do her better
we ask to free her from the cage you have set

wake up from your absurd dream

treat her better, don't give her woe
