there, lies dreams scattered on the floor

all for one on a distant shore
songs of two souls that are intertwined to the core

it makes his heart flutter to hear the words she writes
that he smiles and ignores all the stars fall through the nights
she wrote great songs worthy of bright lights
yet she sings them only to him and brings him to great heights

she sings like an angel, with a smile she shakes
she sings of lullabies and the loneliness she takes
she sings of dreams, for him to be there when she wakes
now that they are apart, this songwriter aches

she sings of when again their hearts will meet;
she sings of what to say when she sees him on the street;
of his love, scent, hugs, his warmth and heat.
And she writes songs and all, sheet after sheet after sheet.
